Privacy Policy for Williams Lock Service

Effective Date: 04/07/2026

Last Updated: 04/07/2026

At Williams Lock Service, your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you interact with our business, website, or services, including the Project Atlas web application.

1. Information We Collect

We may collect the following types of information:

Personal Information: Name, phone number, email address, physical address, or other contact details provided when you inquire about or use our services.

Service Information: Details about the locksmith services you request, such as location and service history.

Payment Information: Billing address and payment details when you pay for our services.

Website Data: Information collected via cookies, analytics tools, browser storage, or other tracking technologies when you visit our website, including IP address, browser type, device information, and browsing behavior.

Project Atlas Application Data: When you use Project Atlas, the application may store app resources and related local state in your browser cache, service worker storage, and local browser storage to support offline use, installed web app behavior, performance, and session persistence. Atlas user agreement acceptance is also stored locally in your browser.

Project Atlas User-Generated Data: Project Atlas is designed so generated systems, pinstack work, exported files, and locally saved JSON files remain on your device or in files you choose to save, rather than being stored in a Williams Lock Service account database.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

Provide locksmith services, including scheduling appointments and responding to emergency calls.

Communicate with you about your service requests or inquiries.

Process payments and issue invoices.

Improve our services and website experience.

Provide Project Atlas functionality, including offline application support, installed web app behavior, local session persistence, file export, and recovery of locally stored app resources when available on your device.

Comply with legal and regulatory requirements.

3. How We Protect Your Information

We take the security of your personal information seriously. We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure.

4. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. However, we may share your information in the following cases:

With Service Providers: Trusted third-party vendors who assist us in providing services (e.g., payment processors).

With Technology Providers: Services used to host site features, measure website traffic, or display third-party embeds, such as analytics providers or embedded professional profile widgets.

Legal Obligations: When required by law or to protect our rights and the safety of our customers.

Business Transfers: In the event of a business merger, sale, or transfer.

5. Your Privacy Choices

You have the following rights regarding your personal information:

Access and Correction: Request a copy of your information or ask us to correct inaccurate details.

Opt-Out: Decline marketing communications by contacting us directly.

Data Deletion: Request the deletion of your information, subject to legal requirements.

Browser Controls: You can clear cookies, cached site data, service worker storage, and local browser storage through your browser settings. Doing so may remove Project Atlas offline capability, agreement state, or other locally stored app resources.

To exercise your rights, contact us at mark@williamslockservice.com or (616) 255-9819.

6. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We may use cookies, analytics tools, local browser storage, cached site resources, and related technologies on our website to enhance your experience, analyze website traffic, and support core app behavior.

For Project Atlas specifically, the site may cache application files through browser cache and service worker storage so the app can load faster and continue working offline. These technologies generally store data on your device rather than in a Williams Lock Service user account.

Our broader website may also use third-party technologies such as Google Analytics and embedded third-party widgets. Those providers may collect standard browser and usage data according to their own policies.

You can control many of these technologies through your browser settings, though disabling them may affect site functionality.

7. Project Atlas Data Handling

Project Atlas is intended to minimize centralized retention of sensitive key-system planning data.

At the application level:

Generated systems are not designed to be stored in a Williams Lock Service server-side account database.

Project files, spreadsheet exports, downloaded JSON files, and related outputs are generally created and stored locally on your device when you choose to save them.

If you install Project Atlas as a web app, your browser may keep cached copies of application pages and assets for offline use.

If you clear browser data or uninstall the web app, those locally cached resources and local preferences may be removed.

You are responsible for safeguarding any exported files, saved JSON files, spreadsheets, system tokens, and other locally stored Atlas data.

8. Links to Third-Party Websites

Our website may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these websites and encourage you to review their privacy policies.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
